Marjorie Dawes first appeared in Vic and Bob's Shooting Stars on BBC 2 as the mother of the Matt Lucas character George Dawes.

She is merciless with everyone except herself, and desperately tries to conceal her own junk food habit from her class.

Marjorie starred in Little Britain Abroad, where she attended an International Fat Fighters meeting in Miami where one member of the group was the local sheriff. The officer took exception to Marjorie's rudeness and after becoming incensed, she arrests her.

2008 saw Little Britain USA introduce Marjorie to the states on the television network HBO and take a class of Fat Fighters joined by famous overweight lesbian Rosie O'Donnell and also continues to insult and abuse her American class just like those back home in Britain.
